Moscow Mule Cocktail

A Moscow Mule is traditionally served in a copper mug to bring out the flavor of the fresh ginger + lime. The idea is a nice ginger soda with a sneaky bit of vodka.

Yield: 1 serving
  • 2 ounces vodka (I prefer Tito's)
  • 2 ounces ginger simple syrup
  • 2 ounces lime juice/about 1 lime
  • sparkling water (I prefer Perrier)
  • a few mint leaves
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • ice
  • copper mug

Step 1

Mix vodka, ginger simple syrup and lime juice in copper mug. Add mint leaves and ice and muddle together.

Step 2

Top with sparkling water, filling the copper mug and stir. Ratio should be about 2:1 sparkling water: other ingredients.

Step 3

Garnish with lime wedge.

Fun fact: The Moscow Mule is NOT from Moscow, but originated in the U.S. in the 1940's.
