WTTW-11 Pico de Gallo

Mild Pico de Gallo

Pico de Gallo is a simple combination of tomatoes, onions, cilantro and jalapeño pepper. We use red shishito peppers in this recipe.

Yield: about 3 1/2 cups
  • 1 onion, chopped [1 cup]
  • 2 shishito peppers, de-seeded and chopped [or use jalapeños]
  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes [amount of tomatoes varies depending upon size and variety]
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


Simply mix all of the ingredients together and enjoy with tortilla chips or as a garnish on top of grilled chicken, fish or meat.
